Summer time is here! But keep guessing, what else?

That's right...

First annual Burger Throwdown day has arrived. The temperature is rising, humidity is messing up our hair and sweat will soon be pouring down our backs.

We may bake a little but the only thing going on fire today are the beef on the grill.

You got a fever, and we got the cowbell!  Let's welcome the summer season with burgers, beer, and good people.

A few updates about our exciting event:

1) #85 Attendee is April N. Patterson, D.D.S., P.A., a.k.a Dr Patty. Local South Florida dentist known for delivering "Dream Smiles". Like her on Facebook

2) Attendee & Sponsorship tickets are sold out! If you did not RSVP and pay online in advance, unfortunately you will not be allowed into the event. We would love to welcome late comers but there are park regulations we must follow: Maximum Capacity in our venue. We do not want our event to be shutdown nor accidents to occur. For safety reasons and consideration to the rules of the park this is the reason why registration is closed. With that said, No Walk-ins permitted. Anyone not on list will be ask to leave. This is a pre-ticketed private event.

3) We recommend that you bring Sunblock & Mosquito repellent. We are surrounded by beautiful trees, and landscape which means plenty of buggies during this season. Needless to say, a hot sun looking down on us.

4) Get ready for a good time and bring business cards to network. Opportunities are everywhere.

Grilling day is almost here and we are down to our very last 10 available tickets.

Originally, we just had in mind a small 30ish gathering of members and friends grilling on Memorial day. This event has definitely taken it's own course and we are in awe of how many of our fans, friends, members and locals have responded to wanting to be part of this throwdown.

Then ofcourse, we promoted the hell out of it as well LOL

I found myself inviting the grocery store bag boy, mailman, and dog walkers that crossed my way

Looking for the best burgers on Memorial Day?

Look no further than the South Florida Burger Throwdown where several amateur chefs will be competing against award-winning chef Jorge Montes to see who makes the best burger. Regardless of who wins the throwdown, everybody wins because everybody eats.

Montes, aka Chef Sazón (@chefsazon), is one of the most talented chefs in South Florida, a rising star among his peers.  Earlier this year, he won second place in the Amstel Light Burger Bash national competition at the South Beach Food & Wine Festival, which was sponsored by the Food Network.  So it will be tough to beat him, but it won’t be tough to enjoy his company as he is one of the most personable chefs in South Florida.

And if that’s not enough, Miami’s very own Burger Beast will be one of three judges determining the winner. The Burger Beast (@burgerbeast) is South Florida’s renowned burger critic.

Among the judges, Dori Zinn, Founder and President of the Fat Kids Club. Recently, Dori Zinn (@dorizinn) was choosen on South Florida Food & Wine "Blogger in the Spotlight" section as one of the hottest food blogs to follow.

Last but not least, our third judge is Chef Dennis Ortiz, Instructor at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.  We figure it would only be a fair battle if we had Chef Sazón's former culinary professor grade his burger for all time sake!
